Alex Blanco Castro

Alex Blanco Castro received his Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from the Polytechnic University of Catalonia (UPC - ESEIAAT), Terrassa, Spain, in 2024, recognized for achieving the highest academic record. He is currently pursuing a Master's degree in Electric Power Systems and Drives at the School of Industrial Engineering of Barcelona (UPC - ETSEIB). Throughout his studies, he has gained industry experience in R&D departments, working on transformers, protection relays, and power converters for renewable energy integration. Since February 2025, he has been part of eRoots, where he focuses on developing power system analysis tools, particularly for unbalanced steady-state studies. His role involves modeling unbalanced systems, designing power flow solvers, and enhancing short-circuit analysis methodologies, with a special emphasis on the impact of power converters.
